ICT

Please note that course information can be found at the end of the text below.

Information and communication technology (ICT) continues to feature as a key CPD programme priority for schools across Wakefield LA.

The programme supports the Harnessing Technology Strategy.  Members of the team are available for consultancy and support work in school. Bespoke courses/sessions based in schools are becoming a key feature of our work and schools should discuss with the ICT Team the exact nature and content of the training they require.   We see this as a key element of our work, in supporting schools with the implementation of their development plan. This work involves an agreed programme with specific targets and is an excellent (and cost effective) means of providing curriculum-focused support for individual, groups of staff or the whole school.

Our two main aims are to support schools in:

1. Raising attainment levels in information and communication technology so that they are in line with or better than the national expectation at the end of each Key Stage, and to help provide the foundation for a lifelong of learning culture within the District.

2. Improve the use of ICT across the curriculum in order to:

integrate the use of ICT into subject teaching;
contribute to raising attainment in all subjects;
contribute to the transformation of learning (creativity).
