Instrument Loans to Schools
Wakefield Music Services (WMS) has a stock of world music instruments for Wakefield schools to borrow on an occasional basis subject to the following conditions:
1. The musical needs of WMS will at all times take priority when determining the availability of instruments to schools.
2. Of necessity, advance bookings will always be provisional until the precise needs of WMS have been determined. Whilst doing everything possible to safeguard the interests of schools seeking to borrow instruments, WMS reserves the right to cancel an agreement in the event of unexpected changes to its own musical needs.
3. Generally the loan period will be up to a maximum of half a term.
4. WMS will not accept liability for any loss or inconvenience consequent upon not being able to make instruments available for whatever reason.
5. WMS does not lend world music instruments to individuals. In the case of music teachers borrowing on behalf of a school, full details of that school must be provided. As the signatory to these conditions will be held responsible in the event of loss or damage, teachers are strongly recommended to ensure that they have the appropriate authority to borrow on behalf of their school.
6. Instruments will be based at Manygates Music Centre. Collection times will be organised by arrangement with the Music Centre.
7. Borrowers will be held responsible for any loss or damage to instruments whilst in their charge.
8. Borrowers are required to bring sufficient "labour" to load/unload instruments from the store to the car park. WMS reserves the right not to release the instruments for transport in vehicles it deems to be unsuitable.
