Music In Action Key Stage 2

Music in Action Key Stage 2

Music in Action Key Stage Two is designed to help the classroom teacher implement the National Curriculum in Music. The pack is simple to use with practical activities for the generalist and specialist class teacher. The ideas in the pack are a continuation and development of those in Music in Action Key Stage One and a knowledge of this document would be beneficial.

It is not designed to be a complete scheme, but it does provide

  • practical activities which give first hand experience of music to children
  • ideas for development of the activity
  • activities whose objectives are linked directly to the Programmes of Study
  • materials which will help to give the necessary confidence to teachers
  • ideas for visual aids which are appropriate and relevant
  • materials which will help to achieve a whole school approach to music
  • a valuable framework for Inservice Training and staff development

Music in Action has been divided into five sections.

Pulse and Rhythm
Pitch
Singing
Composition
Listening

Within these sections are graded activities with suggested resources, methods of organisation and development clearly indicated on the layout.
