Guidance for Headteachers and School Governors
Under the Data Protection Act 1998, Schools are considered to be a separate entity to the Education Authority. This means that the Headteacher/ School Governors have responsibility for ensuring that the school and its staff comply with the Act.
The documents contained in this section of the web site are copies of the documents used by WMDC that have been adapted for schools and have been previously issued to schools. WMDC Schools are free to use the documents for their own use and amend them where necessary.
This information has been provided by the Authors for use by WMDC schools and the contents should not be given to a third party without the approval of the WMDC's Data Protection Officer who is based in the Resources Department, County Hall.
