Unplanned School Closure Procedure

This procedure details the process to be followed in the event that a school needs to close due to an unplanned event eg utility failure, adverse weather and/or when the health and safety of pupils/staff are jeopardised and provides details of issues to be considered prior to the decision to close being made.  Planned school closures are dealt with under separate cover, for further information regarding this please see below.
