Emergency Planning and Business Continuity

The Civil Contingencies Act 2004 placed duties on local authorities in their role to plan for and respond to emergency and business continuity incidents.  As a result of this, and previous/subsequent guidance, the DFE strongly recommend that all schools/settings have emergency and business continuity plans in place to ensure their resilience should an incident occur.

For further information, advice and guidance on developing and maintaining emergency and business continuity arrangements within your school/setting please contact the Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Manager (see Contacts Form below).

Schools/settings within Wakefield Council Local Authority with access to the It's Learning VLE can also refer to the information, advice and guidance contained within the Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Course Pages - available under 'Related Links'.
