Risk assessment is a valuable tool which can be used to control hazards within the workplace and is also a requirement of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. The Corporate Health and Safety Team has put together some guidance notes and examples of generic risk assessments which follow the HSE 5 steps to risk assessment.
It should be noted that the guidance notes give some generic examples under each step of the risk assessment process in relation to lone working it is designed to show the thought process needed when following the risks assessment form.
Other examples of generic risk assessments are to be made available at a future date.
It is important to note that the generic risk assessments are only a starting point and that they should be adapted to take into account the significant hazards present in your particular situation.
