The EdIT Centre

We recognise that service and support are essential parts of any ICT system.  This is even more relevant today as computer systems become increasingly critical to your operation and at the same time expand in terms of size and complexity.  As a user you need to be able to rely on your system, to be assured that its software has been tested to ensure that it does not conflict with other software on the system and to be secure that in the event of problems, support, leading to swift resolution, is readily available.  You should be able to use the system to help you in your work while someone else takes responsibility for ensuring its reliability.  The EdIT Centre has been established to meet that need, and:

  • Provides ICT support to all users within Wakefield's Education and Cultural Services.  You can therefore be assured that your systems will be compatible with those used in other areas of the Education Service.
  • Is non-profit making and has been established with the single objective of providing high quality ICT support to the Wakefield's Education and Cultural Services.
  • Is staffed by people who know your school, know many of your staff and understand your needs.  They are there to help and support your ICT systems.
  • Is a one-stop shop for all your ICT needs.
  • Works in close partnership with the Wakefield Education and Advisory Service in providing consultancy, advice and training on curriculum and Management Information Systems (MIS).
